Waheguru – a word, a name, that brings peace to the mind just by uttering it. It is not just the name of the Supreme Being; it is an experience—one that is connected with every breath.


What Does Waheguru Mean?


"Wahe" means – Wow! (wonder, amazement)

"Guru" means – one who leads from darkness to light.

Thus, Waheguru means – The wondrous Guru who removes darkness and brings the light of wisdom.

[ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ]                  ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਕੌਣ ਸਨ  ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਵਾਇਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਥਾ ਸਿਮਰਣ, ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ। ਜਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ: ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 31 ਮਾਰਚ 1504 ਨੂੰ ਮੱਤਾ, ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ (ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਭਾਰਤ) ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਨਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਸੀ। ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਫੇਰਾ ਮਲ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਮਾਤਾ ਰਾਮੋ ਜੀ ਸੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ: ਭਾਈ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਇਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ, ਸਦਾਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜਾਚ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋਕੇ ਭਾਈ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੁਟਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ, ਭਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਚੁਣਿਆ। ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ: ਸਨ 1539 ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜੋਤਿ ਜੋਤ ਸਮਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਭਾਈ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ। ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ "ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ" ਰੱਖਿ...
