Bhagat Bhikhan Ji – The Mystic Devotee of the Divine
Bhagat Bhikhan Ji was one of the fifteen saints (Bhagats) whose writings are included in the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He was a highly spiritual Sufi saint, known for his deep love for God, humility, and devotion beyond religious boundaries.

Bhagat Bhikhan Ji was born around the mid-15th century, likely in Kakori, near Lucknow in present-day Uttar Pradesh, India.
He came from a Muslim background, but his spiritual teachings transcended religion, focusing solely on union with the Divine.
He was a disciple of Shiekh Abdul Quddus of Gangoh, a respected Sufi saint of the Chishti order.

Bhagat Bhikhan Ji believed in:
Oneness of God, beyond forms and names. Meditation on the Divine Name (Naam Simran) as the highest form of devotion.
Detachment from material desires, ego, and rituals.
He sought God within, and emphasized that the true temple is the heart of a pure devotee. Though a Sufi, his devotion aligned closely with the Bhakti movement, focusing on inner love and surrender to the Divine.
Contribution to Guru Granth Sahib Ji:
One hymn by Bhagat Bhikhan Ji is included in the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, in Raag Sorath. In his hymn, he humbly begs for the vision of the Lord, expressing that without God, life is meaningless.

Bhagat Bhikhan Ji is remembered for his humble and universal approach to spirituality. His life and teachings show that true love for God crosses all man-made divisions—be it religion, caste, or status. He remains a symbol of devotion, humility, and the unity of faiths.
