The Saint of Truth – Baba Nanak
[ The Saint of Truth – Baba Nanak ] ( A Token of Grace, Voice of Truth )
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, also known as "The Saint of Truth", was a symbol of honesty, brotherhood, and justice. He fearlessly raised his voice against the evils, blind faith, and hollow religious rituals prevalent in society.
Birth and Early Life:
Guru Nanak Sahib was born on 15th April 1469 in Rai Bhoi Ki Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib, in Pakistan). His father’s name was Mehta Kalu and his mother was Mata Tripta. From a young age, he showed signs of extraordinary wisdom and a deep inclination toward truth.
Teachings of Truth:
Guru Nanak Dev Ji said:
Truth brings goodness to all."
His divine verses (bani) revolve around truth, Naam (the divine name), compassion, and justice. He emphasized that God cannot be realized through mere rituals, but through sincere intentions and honest labor (kirat).
Travels Across Lands:
Guru Ji traveled extensively—from India to Mecca, Medina, Turkey, China, and Tibet. Everywhere he went, he spread the message: There is no Hindu, no Muslim – all are human beings.”
Final Message:
Until his last breath, Guru Nanak Dev Ji never strayed from the path of truth. He taught us that:
To speak the truth, live the truth, and act truthfully – this is the true religion.
